Bournemouth Prepare New Contract for Antoine Semenyo Amid Liverpool Interest

AFC Bournemouth are set to open contract talks with forward Antoine Semenyo as the club looks to fend off mounting interest from Liverpool, according to multiple reports from England.

The Ghanaian international has been one of Bournemouth’s standout players this season, impressing with his pace, pressing ability, and goal contributions in Andoni Iraola’s high-intensity system. Semenyo’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with Liverpool scouts reportedly monitoring his progress closely over the past few months.

Bournemouth are now preparing to offer Semenyo a new long-term deal that would reflect his rising importance to the team and secure his future amid growing Premier League interest.

“Bournemouth see Semenyo as a key figure in their long-term plans,” said a source close to the club. “Talks are expected to begin soon, and the club wants to reward him for his outstanding form this season.”

Since joining from Bristol City in January 2023, Semenyo has developed into one of the most exciting attacking talents outside the Premier League’s traditional top six. The 24-year-old has already registered five goals and three assists this season, playing a crucial role in Bournemouth’s push toward the top half of the table.

Liverpool’s reported interest stems from manager Arne Slot’s admiration for dynamic, pressing forwards who can operate across multiple attacking positions traits that perfectly fit Semenyo’s style. The Reds are believed to view him as a potential squad addition or future replacement for Luis Díaz or Diogo Jota, both of whom have drawn attention from European clubs.

However, Bournemouth are determined not to lose another key player easily after the departures of Dominic Solanke rumors last summer. The Cherries have made player retention a priority as they aim to build stability under Iraola.

Semenyo’s rise has also drawn praise from Ghanaian fans and national team coach Otto Addo, who sees the forward as a vital part of Ghana’s AFCON 2025 and World Cup 2026 qualifying campaign.

With the January transfer window approaching, Bournemouth’s decision to act early could prove crucial in keeping hold of one of their most valuable assets.
