After claiming yet another personal accolade, Kylian Mbappé has made it clear that his focus remains firmly on collective success with Real Madrid. The French forward, who picked up the La Liga Golden Boot award this week after finishing as the league’s top scorer, emphasized that team trophies are his ultimate motivation.
Speaking at the club’s Santiago Bernabéu ceremony on Friday, Mbappé thanked his teammates and coaching staff but quickly shifted attention to the team’s ambitions this season.
“I’m proud to win the Golden Boot, but football is about the team. I came to Madrid to win titles La Liga, the Champions League, and everything possible with this club,” Mbappé said in his post-award comments.
The 26-year-old striker enjoyed a stunning debut campaign with Los Blancos, scoring 34 goals in the league and 45 in all competitions. His speed, positioning, and lethal finishing have made him a fan favorite and a vital component in Xabi Alonso’s attacking system.
Despite his individual brilliance, Mbappé stressed the need for Madrid to convert performances into silverware. The club currently sits atop La Liga and remains one of the favorites for the UEFA Champions League, a trophy Mbappé has long chased since his days at Paris Saint-Germain.
“Real Madrid has a winning culture here, it’s not enough to play well, you must win. We have the players, the coach, and the fans to achieve something special,” he added.
Ancelotti praised Mbappé’s mindset, noting that his commitment to team goals sets the tone for younger players in the squad, including Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo.
Kylian Mbappe announced he wants to stay at Real Madrid for a long time. The Frenchman also wants more trophies, which is the goal this season under Xabi Alonso.
Mbappé’s leadership and professionalism have already had a ripple effect at Madrid, where his arrival injected both star power and ambition into the squad. The Frenchman’s next target is clear lifting the Champions League trophy in his first season as a Real Madrid player.
